will miss him, but 160 apps in 6 years(5.5 if you exclude that loan to WBA), fucking hell, says it all
I feel like some of that was mismanagement too though. He was rushed back too often when we were in a bad state up front.
💯. Will never forgive Hodgson playing him for England knowing he was injured then saying “we wanted to test his resolve” 🤬.
Then a year later forcing him to train the day after an England game when Sturridge said Liverpool usually give him a light day immediately after a game. He then misses the next 4 months 🤬.
Just fuck Roy Hodgson and everything about him tbh. Genuinely have 0 good things I can say about him
Surprised there was never any legal ramifications for Hodgson. Admitting to putting an employee through harmful effort, and in doing so affecting his long term ability to perform at his job. In a more traditional job, that would be very costly for an employer...
It was playing for England rather than Liverpool, so Sturridge wasn’t an employee of the team
I’d guess half were off the bench too
he was here during some iffy times for us too in the first few years
Good luck to him

MLS season is almost over at this point and likely has already fulfilled their large salary quota for each team I believe. He might want to stay in Europe hoping a good season or half season would get him a transfer somewhere else.
Trabzonspor have a chance of making it to the Europa League. Sturridge could make a big difference for them.
I saw a lot of rumors he was going to DC United his wage demands were too high for them.

My guess is they didn't want to offer him a DP contract because of his injury history and so it would've been a pretty significant pay cut. Probably making less than 20k a week.
The culture might but the football would kill him
If he can stay fit he'll bang in 20+ a season in that league. Good luck studge!
He’s going to kill it if he’s fit
Said everyone the last 6 years
I feel like liverpool fans mentally insert this without needing to say it out loud or write it out.
That's a massive if
Wasn’t expecting this move at all
There must be some angle we're missing, most probable seems that the interest level wasn't there from more ideal clubs.
Actually, more than 15 european clubs were rumored to contact him including Monaco, Galatsaray and Fenerbahçe. They all proposed more salary but he still chose Trabzonspor. There HAS to be something we're missing that affected the lad's decision.
He's, by far, the most talented player on Trabzonspor. He's gonna smash the Super Lig.
Good luck to Studge
He had the choice of so many clubs and he chose trabzonspor? I'm actually surprised by that.
Loved this guy, especially during the title run with Suarez back in 2013/2014. Sad that he's injury prone, would've been better than Kane if he's not.
Weird move tbh, was expecting him to move to the MLS. But maybe the turfs over there wouldn't do him any favors
I had selfishly hoped Studge would make his way to the US. All the best to him.
I’ll never know the scoop on Studge. I had expected him to become a monster under the gaffer. Was his body was not up to it? He got fit and lost weight last season, why did his playing time tail off after winning our player of the month in September? He scored against PSG, and had his scorcher against Chelsea. Was his attitude was not right? Ultimately, we are all disappointed he never became what he could have been, but no matter the reason I’ll always be a fan.
He just doesn't fit the system. Nobody's fault.
Ngl, this is a pretty poor choice by DStudge. Trabzon is a pretty dull place to live. An Istanbul club would've been amazing for him and his lifestyle
Ağla
That goal against Chelsea... Oh man, I wish they had won the EPL this year.
My Dad said that if I drink milk one day I could play for Trabzonspor
Best of luck Studge.
Liverpool legend!
(♥‿♥)
Legend how?
Liverpool legend!
I like the guy but he's hardly a club legend
Going to miss the Studge dance. If anyone is interested, Trabzonspor vs Besiktas is in 9 days. Potential Sturridge v Karius. I for one will remember both of them fondly!
I think Karius is injured. Might be wrong though.
I can’t remember Karius fondly, no malice, just have no fond memories ... nice guy, hope he succeeds, just neutral for me
I'm all for being nice but i can't honestly say it's fond memories with him
He died so Alisson may live.
I remember fondly when he first took over from Migs and he was clearly better with his feet and it actually improved our play. It all ended on a sour note but he was a fairly decent keeper, he just lost all confidence.
He helped out tremendously two seasons ago. Yes it ended very poorly but I think much of the blame is on not seeing that he had a concussion which no one in the medical side figured out he had.
Must have had a concussion for all the other (similar) mistakes he made
I remember loving a mad save out the top corner on the verge of half time, against maybe Newcastle? Otherwise nil
One way or another, Studge finally came to Besiktas :)

Why would you remember Karius fondly?!
It's absolute drivel. If you remember him fondly, then you don't remember him playing for us.
Because you’ll never walk alone 🥴🥴
Exactly!? Sturridge could have been a club legend. Karius was a total failure
