who went with you to take the pic? would love to hear the story

This whooshed pretty hard here it seems!

TheChopDontStop•

This is the epitome of this sub. Someone makes an innocent joke and everyone thinks he’s stupid lol.

40
OrneryOnion•

These people actually tried to explain how to use your mouse to rotate the camera. How do you get that far without realizing it’s a joke

13
Kaisersoysauce•

It's the same people who go on and on about the print screen button...

2
Moonsaloon•

This problem exists in-game as well

1
gubbygub•

maybe the person that knows how to type a reverse d

19
nerfaliskOP:druid:•

Nobody, left mouse rotates camera. I also turned off the smart camera feature so my camera wouldn't snap back into place when I released.

Not hard to get there took me ~2 minutes to get the correct walljump and bounced on in.

To get to that point was ~20 minutes ride with 60% mount. The zone is HUGE. Spent over an hour exploring, fun zone would have really loved to see it in classic. It is very different from TBC and beyond Hyjal that's for sure.

14
sweprotoker97•

It blows my mind that the reason they cited for not including Hyjal at release back in the day was that they thought they already had enough and almost too much content at 60 so they just held back on it for 6 years..

15
[deleted]•

I mean most players never completed the vast majority of existing content back then...I’m sure there hardcore players who had things on farm quickly, but for a lot of us (solo casual players) Rag and Onyxia took months to achieve.

18
sweprotoker97•

Well, they could've just extended Vanilla. Alot of people were very unhappy about TBC being released so quickly. So many guild died during Naxx progression because people didn't see the point when everything was getting wiped in a few months anyway.

I'm pretty sure they wanted to make that sweet cash though with the millions of hyped subscribers they had.

4
nerfaliskOP:druid:•

Yeah same with Karazan sewers. Amazing zone, really interesting layout, would have been really interesting if they filled it out!

10
Hamish909•

We can pray for classic+ so much stuff for them to expand on

5
jack-whitman•

I would love to see a new classic WoW where instead of moving onto TBC after the last phase, we get new patches that flesh out and add new content like a finished Hyjal. I know it's a pipe dream, but it's a nice thought.

2
HEXNEPLUG•

Wait wait wait I thought they patched wallclimbing as the game run on a modern client ? Glad to see we can still access Hyjal tho, I wonder what route you took.

3
Rakshiv_•

They patched some wall climbing, but this is more wall jumping.

It's definitely a bit harder to accomplish but the OG trick still works.

7
NonMagical•

I can't get wall jumping to work like it used to. And I'm not talking about wall walking, that was patched before I started playing back in Vanilla. But wall jumping was pretty easy to do back then (I used to jump all the way out of AV for shits and giggles).

So dunno how you are able to do it successfully.

5
Gyshall669•

Can’t you just die and rez past the gate?

2
nerfaliskOP:druid:•

Through winterspring, you can youtube it. There's a pillar in Darkwhisper you jump on and you need slowfall to get over the invisible wall.

5
therasaak•

thanks for the camara tip!

1
hanzo1504:h-a:•

Lmao this fucking post. Took me a second, gotta give you that.

2
gmatney•

you can rotate the camera around the front of your character to take screenshots.

-3†
CurarPvP:horde::priest:•

You're really immersed in wow eh? Couldn't possibly be a screenshot someone MUST have taken a photo for him hahaha

-36
OrneryOnion•

How do you not realize it’s a joke?

6
bcohendonnel•

He's just really immersed in wow, eh?

4
BreastUsername•

Dude...

3
TA_faq43•

Where is this?

15
nerfaliskOP:druid:•

Hyjal, a zone you aren't supposed to be able to access.

27
c0uch-potato•

Is this a private server?

-1†
nerfaliskOP:druid:•

Live server. There's a walljump you can execute. Youtube the details and go see it for yourself! Requires slowfall and a 60% mount.

12
Luzn•

you can get in without a slow fall too. did it last week only a 60% mount is necessary.

1
iPersian•

Can a shaman get there with sight?

1
Soytaco•

Not sure if it is, but you can get there in classic unless they changed something. I went there in vanilla and have basically the same screenshot. I lot of people do.

5
Sythesys•

Hyjal

18
3lfk1ng•

My dream for a Classic+

11
jonnnyai:horde::rogue:•

I always go there with levitate way easier than doing precise jumps

7
mofo222•

wish they just made it accessible via some regular way...

2
nerfaliskOP:druid:•

Eventually maybe, it was slated as a raid zone. Where you fall into the zone it has a green portal, also half way along the path there's another green portal. So pretty safe to say it was planned but scrapped due to time.

4
relaxok•

If I recall, I got here in TBC by shadowstepping a mob in Darkwhisper Gorge(?) when the spot behind the mob was beyond the invisible wall.. don’t know how you do it in vanilla

1
nerfaliskOP:druid:•

I just youtubed a video for it. You can slowfall over the invisible wall into Hyjal once you are above it.

1
schwarzerwind•

Awesome to know. How are Priests for exploring later on in the game in Classic? That's my main. Originally I used to get into places w a mage.

1
nerfaliskOP:druid:•

Any class can, did it on a druid which has no innate slowfall. (Noggenflogger elixirs used) Just comes down to nailing the walljump!

1
ChaiTeaWithMilk•

It's the same with a priest. This is coming from someone with a priest logged out in hyjal. All you need is a mount.

1
centurijon:horde::mage:•

I'm really surprised it isn't the modern Hyjal

-12
KnaxxLive•

Why? They're using the old map files. Why are you surprised that it's not the modern Hyjal?

It's not like they took the Cataclysm updated zones and manually recreated the entire world. They had the map files sitting around from 1.12 and loaded them into the modern client.

24
postreplypreview•

Which is why they should just import the old maps into BFA and add a Chromie NPC you can talk to to be ported to the old world. If I could run all the old content in BFA and collect transmog, I'd have zero desire to even touch classic.

They could have saved themselves a lot of work if they had just done that instead of bothering with classic at all, honestly. Access to removed content is a large chunk of the appeal.

-30
MobileShrineBear•

Actual talent trees. Hitting max level being an actual achievement, instead of just a grind to unlock the hamster wheel of progress. Actual PvP servers. Actual battlegrounds. Actual PvP gear. No flying.

Ya, transmog and being able to do old raids/content was the only reason there was such a surge of interest in classic !

They could easily make this into a new Cash cow by going the classic + route. My money is on them screwing it up the second they add anything new though. They won't be able to resist putting flying in, or group finder, or other crap to appeal to the short attention span, play for 20 minutes at a time crowd.

13
postreplypreview•

Hitting max level has NEVER been an achievement. Leveling in vanilla is fucking easy. You can literally grind dungeons to 60. It's no more difficult than BFA.

I LIKE flying, weirdo. What kind of psycho doesn't want to be able to fly?

-16
KnaxxLive•

Lol. You honestly have no idea what you're talking about if you think the majority of people came back because of, "access to old content."

Classic tripled the subscriber numbers for WoW. I, and many, many others, would have never have came back if they just put the old world into BFA. I have no plans of ever playing the current expansion.

3
kaazmodan:alliance::hunter:•

?? That came out in cata. Are you also surprised Thousand Needles isn't flooded and The Barrens isn't split into North/South?

Thousand Needles ISN'T flooded? Damn, I might visit that place in classic

1
bryonus•

Im also surprised they didnt create more work for themselves

10
sadhukar•

because of the #nochanges cultists

3
deeman18•

shhhh, don't tell them they're playing on the 7.3.5 client

9
nerfaliskOP:druid:•

For sure, it resembles part of the modern Hyjal (or at least the one we see in TBC), but it has giant areas that are different.

8
Khalku:horde::warlock:•

Modern Hyjal wouldn't actually fit, the cataclysm zone dimensions are off from vanilla.

2
Lunareste•

You know they can find out what account you're playing from and ban you, because your acct details are embedded in screenshots, right?

-16
Khalku:horde::warlock:•

First off, that metadata does not exist in wow client screenshots but nice try. Second, when you re-host, that data is stripped anyway.

10
Yolde•

It is steganographically embedded in the image itself. It's a bit of code in the game client. However, if you paste the image from your clipboard into MS Paint and save it then you are fine.

If you just use the screenshot generated by the game client, Blizzard will send the CIA to disappear you.

8
eharsh87•

There's a stegosaurus embedded in the image??

10
Wrathen_•

Get this caveman out of here. Geez

1
Khalku:horde::warlock:•

Uh huh, and the compression from image rehosting somehow would not affect the stenography?

1
Gnarwhalz•

Fuck off, there's no way 'steganographically' is a real term. Nuh uh.

1
menacingFriendliness:horde::druid:•
3
Cultiststeve•

Do people get banned for going there?

7
Nyhirai:alliance::mage:•

no

21
fuzzylumpkinsbc•

They're for sure gonna find your account and ban you too for spilling their secrets.

5

Who the hell uses in-game screenshot functions anyway? Win+shift+s for life.

3
Wildicki•

dude.. whaaat? This is amazing!!!

1

Spread the word.

1
nerfaliskOP:druid:•

They can probably just check the game logs of who moved around in the zone, since it's not accessible by players only GM's technically. (it's the old version of GM island, they log in to the zone before turning on their GM tag and going invisible)

It's to protect people from pinging me in game to show them how I got there.

3
eharsh87•

so you're saying we should take pictures of our monitor with our phones then.
