You missed Veins of Gold - the greatest chapter in the 2nd half of the series, if not the whole series
Idk man Rand’s POVs in the Last Battle were some killers. Also Those Who Fight.
It’s definitely the best in the series.
No way. The last battle or Rand atop the mountain or even in Rhuidean are better.
Rand atop the mountain
Veins of Gold
Am I missing something?
It’s been a while I guess.
Rand atop the mountain is veins of gold
Egwene's story for so good in this book. This was the start of her firmly cementing herself as my favorite character.
And Verin? Just wow.
Plus no Elayne
Egwene sucks too.
Egwene was a self-important, power-hungry, despotic chunk of terrible, but in tGS, all her qualities that could be negative in the rest of the books were turned on Elaida and the bad parts of the White Tower, and it was great. It was her moment to shine, and she shined.
It should have also been her moment to realize how to be a better person, but instead she took it as confirmation that she was always right
Oh, definitely. I'm just saying that it was nice to see her essential "Egwene-ness" aimed at someone that actually deserved it for once, rather than at people that still considered her a friend for some weird reason.
Proof that one can be a bastard and be great at the same time!
Self important was the exact description I was thinking when I wrote that. She’s so full of herself it drives me crazy to read her chapters. I’ll admit she was stomachable in TGS, but it’s also more of her thinking she’s better than everyone else around her.
I look at it this way: She was exactly the sort of person the Pattern needed her to be, that just wasn't a particularly nice or likable person. The Pattern is made up of good and bad(or in Gawyn's case, plain dumb)
“You are a coward and a tyrant. I’d name you dark friend but I suspect the Dark One would be to embarrassed to know you.”
There are plenty of times that Egwene is a pain in the ass, her chapters in The Gathering Storm are not those times
no u
Verin Mathwin. That is all.
