The Update 5.2 patch notes have been updated to include fixes for two audio issues shown in WackyJacky101's video
These two lines have been added since the patch originally went onto test servers.
Fixed an issue where running footsteps are barely audible in a hallway of School, Erangel
Fixed an issue where without line-of-sight, footstep sounds are inaudible in a specific building of Pecado, Miramar
It's possible it's a mistake as they've accidentally included things in patch notes before when they were only fixed internally but if not this is a pretty major bugfix.

the patch notes are weirdly specific, so is PUBG implying line of sight bugs are isolated per building or environment?
if that's the case, then sound bugs ingame are really like minefields to the player which will make it very hard to prove or even identify.
yeah the issue always felt way more widespread vs a couple of specific buildings... we'll see I guess.
I agree. Footsteps missing and bad directional audio are seemingly worse than they were at the start of the year. I know directional audio was never perfect, but after a 6 month hiatus I feel like it's much harder to hear where people are walking these days, especially which floor vertically.
I’ve had plenty of matches recently where people have walked up behind me and drilled me without me hearing a thing.
