This is a non-story. It happened in late November, and it’s standard practice to disciple players for drinking while in recovery. This has nothing to do with SOS leaving the club.

This is the bit that is baffling me. It absolutely has a massive impact on your recovery. You're being paid shitloads and there's agreed times for drinking during the off season when not on a recovery program. AFL is so unprofessional compared to other sports when it comes to this shit.

Stories like this make me think of the shit parts of being an AFL player. Imagine being disciplined for having 3 drinks and being home by 9pm as a 21 year old over the weekend.

I'm not saying I agree with it does seem ridiculous you can't have a few quiet ones over dinner with the mrs. At the same time athletes are highly paid to perform at their best and alcohol clearly inhibits your recovery from injury.

I don't think it'd be a problem if they weren't injured
