Spider 17-20 on manual with Ultimate Galek
It’s now time to stop lurking around and contribute to this sub a little bit. Spider 20 is a pain. It is especially a pain if you don’t have one of the critical components the vast majority of teams have – Coldhearts. After opening more than a 100 voids I’ve yet to get a single one. Neither was I lucky enough to pull Lua or Psylar, mass unkillable or aoe burn.
However, we have a guide on spider 20 and we have u/lythandra2 who has provided breakdowns on how he achieved victory over different affinities of high level spider.
Update: there's now a video of a spider 20 run
The following is the road and some comments on high level spider.
-
If you’re not farming dragon 20 already and don’t have heroes that make spider easy, don’t commit to the budget versions of teams below. You’ll need to level, gear up and upgrade so much it’s not worth it.
-
Get ultimate Galek if you can. He drastically cuts down the time you farm spider on manual and has a limited potential for auto as well!

Fu-shan, Ultimate Galek, Lich, Armiger, Paragon
Comments on choices and gear:
Fu-shan provided def down, speed aura and some damage. Can be easily replaced by anything.
Ultimate galek:
Galek needs to be fully booked for full potential.
You have to get him to accuracy 185+, decent hp and speed.
If you’re using him without an attack up hero you have to get his crit rate to 100 to enable hp burn.
His only masteries were crit rate and accuracy. There’s no need to have him at a level higher than 50 in this composition.
Lich
Provides good lockdown and speed decrease that is extremely helpful. Unfortunately he wasn’t as good or consistent as I had hoped on spider 20. Still, he will be a good hero for Rhazin and faction wars.
The only things you want for Lich are enough accuracy, speed and hp.
His only mastery was accuracy
Armiger
Armiger in those compositions needs to have 100% crit rate, accuracy and speed. Health is also important if you ever want him in your auto composition.
In my case, without defense down he hit for around 120k with his a2. In comparison, Galek’s aoe burn hit for 166k per burn tick. Since there are 10 spiderlings this damage adds up extremely fast and dwarves the potential damage armiger could bring.
So his main goal throughout had been to decrease the turn meter.
He had masteries of crit rate, crit dmg, and accuracy up to lore of steel. But only crit rate and accuracy are mandatory
Paragon
This is the main star of the show. The only two things you want for him are enough speed (186+) and booked a2. That’s it.
If you’re looking for an alternative to paragon you can use gnarlhorn (though not on force affinity)
Optionally you might want paragon to have accuracy for 10% tm decrease. But honestly speaking it’s not going to make much of a difference. Paragon has to spend a turn putting unkillable on himself. Because of this he only hits every other turn and the overall utility is not worth it.
My team for Spider 18 was the following: https://imgur.com/4y3QuSw
Stitched Beast x2, Ultimate Galek, Lich, Paragon.
Due to the affinity I had to change things around. The new hero that was used was the
Stitched beast
Has a full turn meter depletion and weaken. There’s a need for it to have enough accuracy, speed and hp. In my case the two beasts had a difference of 20 speed. You need to time them so they deplete the turn meters in order.
Mastery-wise stitched beasts had accuracy and one of them had lore of steel.
My team for spider 19 was the following: https://imgur.com/aMUh65H
Due to the affinity galek couldn’t be used. So it was a nightmare. I’ve had to redo the 20+ minute runs a few times, so here are a few takeaways:
I went into the fight thinking that 170 accuracy is enough. However even with 185 accuracy sometimes the turn meter depletions on lich and beasts would fail. I had to re-gear them to make sure they all have 200+ and that proved to be enough.
Fu-shan was chose because he had warmaster and on this affinity he could dish out the most damage from my roster. With weaken and defense down he was able to hit as hard as 120k per turn with each warmaster proc and had carried the fight in the end.

Finally, the spider 20 dream on manual is here. I was able to get around 6 minute runs with this composition. At least now I’ll be able to get some decent jewelry before figuring out how to auto it!

Upvoted. Great guide showcasing more options for us non-whales to get through spiders. Thanks for putting in the effort to share your success with the rest of us!
