Are my speakers too big? Is there optimum listening distance, is that a thing?

I bought bookcase speakers because I read that they give better sound quality for the money compared to speakers specifically for pcs. However, I wasn't aware of how the listed dimensions work and they're much bigger than I was expecting.

Dimensions: 12"x7"

I sit about 25"-35" inches away.

Sometimes I notice my ears getting tired, kind of like eyes getting tired from looking at a screen for too long. Am I sitting too close to these speakers? is there an optimal distance? Have I messed up?

Any wisdom or insight about speaker placement for pcs is welcome

I'm no expert so take it with a grain of salt but I believe there are a few factors including optimal distance away from the wall/yourself although sound is one thing that can be hard to recommend to others as it is largely down to personal preference. Nothing stopping you from moving them around and trying different configurations I suppose. If you are looking for a different audio setup it might be worthwhile to see if you can get a live demo at any local businesses as the best way to know if you like it is by trying it out.

I wear glasses and don't find headphones comfortable for prolonged sessions.

I wear glasses too and I also had trouble with headphones until I actually bought a good pair.

I have a corsair void pro wireless

I have the same but wired actually. They're much better than my old ones but I still don't find them comfortable enough to wear them the majority of the time.
