Stop buying into hype for video games.

It isn't worth it. Not ever. No matter how much you love the franchise - no, especially if you love the franchise. Don't take time off work to watch damned reveal trailers; hell, don't even watch the pre-alpha reveal. Don't obsess about launch dates, or what drip-fed info is revealed over time.

You will only ever be disappointed by hyped games, and the degree of your disappointment is directly proportional to how much you bought the hype.

The BG series are my favorite games of all time. I'm excited about BG3, but I'm not expecting it to be anything that it isn't. Neither should you.

Don't tell me how to live my life

My only disappointment is in the fanbase, and how happily they're eviscerating this game.

It’s the internet, what do you expect?

Fair point; I really should know better by now.

Most of the people commenting more than likely never even played the original BG games like we have.

I’m just excited to be heading back to Baldur’s Gate with amazing graphics, excited to see the new stories and interactions, excited to finally see another installment in a franchise that never deserved to die out.

Meh. I've liked everything Larian has done in twenty years. I'm good. You do you.

That's kinda my point. It's going to be like other Larian games, it isn't going to be like old-school bioware.

People expecting it to be something that it isn't are going to be disappointed. People building it up into their own idealized version are going to be nothing but disappointed.
