Depends what you overdose on. Opiate overdose is like falling asleep and never waking up. Others might be painful if you are conscious.

My stepmom tried to overdose on Benadryl. Took a lot of it. Had a seizure in her sleep, bit her tongue, and woke up with a swollen face. She took more once she woke up. Decided to take her to the hospital to make sure she was gonna be alright. They decided to pump her stomach and she was hallucinating during it. While laying on a hospital bed in ICU, she was wide-eyed, fiercely looking upward in the air as if there were things floating around; she looked like she was trying to hunt them or something. It didn't sound like she enjoyed the stomach pump. She had to stay there for a couple days too. Didn't seem fun. She wasn't in a relationship with my dad at the time, but now she is and is happy, for what it's worth.
