CERB Eligibility Rescinded Job Offers

I had secured a job back in Janurary that was set to start soon. I had already signed documents (contracts for employment, confidentiality agreements etc). Just recently I received notice that my job offer was being rescind due the COVID-19 Pandemic, (received written letter due to my original contract stating any changes to employment terms needed to be in writing). I am wondering If I will qualify for the CERB as I am now without work for reasons out of my control and will not earn income for the foreseeable future. I should also note that I made over $5000 last year.

Definitely not. You must actively be working and receiving income. and then lose 100% of your income due to COVID-19. Unfortunately you don’t fit the description.

You are entitled to severance pay. How much was this job supposed to pay you?
