Update on Unemployment and CARES Act (and that $600 bonus)
Edit: This post has been edited for details and to include links to your unemployment questions answers by u/PennyPedro, an ESD employee so kindly answering questions. Don't see yours here? Tag her in your question.
- If you were not covered for unemployment before but are under the CARES act (such as not having 680 hours) - reapply after 8pm on April 18th.
- The $600 federal bonus will start hitting accounts April 18 and be retroactive to claims filed weekly as of March 29. Note: If you receive training benefits, you will not receive this bonus.
Here is the link to sign up to the ESD newsletter if you want to know when you can start re-applying or want to know when to look for your $600 bonuses BUT most info you need can be found somewhere in here!
(*Also quick note from u/PennyPedro: The state's unemployment website is going to be shut down Saturday for the upgrade. Do not panic. Everything is totally fine. Just log back on around 8pm if you want to reapply as soon as possible.)
