Ideas for Mothers Day in NZ?

Discussion

My mum lives in Welly, and I'm in Auckland. As the title says, I'm looking for ways to help recognise Mothers day for her this year, but unsure if Flowers are going to be okay or not in Level 3. Ideas or thoughts? Also, given the delays that are coming up, reminder: If you're having anything sent, get it ordered now before Tuesday and the crazy courier post mayhem.

Have dinner together

Order her some food delivery, and get yourself the same thing (maybe get yours delivered for 15min earlier, so she doesn't end up waiting for you). Then set up a facetime, so you can eat together and chat

This was cool! We ended up cooking together, and I arranged teaching her how to cook one of my fave meals. Got click and collect ingredients for her :-)

Awesome! I'm glad it worked out well for you.

What a great idea cooking it together. Sounds like fun

Can’t help with Wellington florist but there are florist opening from Tuesday for delivery, such as Le Femme Fleur in Herne Bay.

I would recommend googling Welli florists (unless you have one in mind already) and checking their Instagram or Facebook page for updates. There definitely should be some down there open.

You could send her some vouchers that she can use locally.

I won't be surprised if a few places put up something special for mother's day. I noticed one or two that had special easter deliveries and also some of the offerings for level 3 appears to be packages like deli hampers, meal kits etc.

Wellington Chocolate Factory has been delivering under Level 4. Pretty quickly too I might add, we got stuff the next day despite being the week of Easter.

How did it go? Did you find something suitable and got it delivered in time?

Hey! I ended up teaching her how to cook one of my fave meals. Got a click n collect for all the ingredients, and I brought the same ones, and then we cooked a meal together in our separate kitchens via Zoom. It was pretty awesome!
