Thoughts on Snowpiercer tv show.

Who's seen it? What do you think? I just watched the pilot and was really disappointed. I loved the film but they basically sanitized it massively. Everyone is starving in the tail end but still seem to be working together without incident. It's a shame for me as it's such a unique set up but I don't think I'll be carrying on.

At around 18 minutes in, my SO and I took one look at each other. No words were needed.

Instead we watched Homecoming season 2, and are two episodes in so far. The Hitchock-redux photography is used more sparingly than in the first season - but to very good effect when it is. The story is perhaps simpler but stronger so far than S1, and the conclusion of ep 2 was a genuine, well executed, surprise. I am looking forward to continuing with it.

We won't be returning to Snowpiercer.

Thanks for the tip about Homecoming season 2! I really enjoyed the first season and hadn’t seen any promotion or realized s2 had dropped.

A show no one was clamoring for.

I'm enjoying it so far, I like the fact they made it a prequel, rather than trying to include elements from the film, it gives them a lot more freedom. I'm a sucker for a police procedural so the story is fine by me.

I think the biggest thing I enjoy is the fridge realisation, tgat between the TV series and the film much of the trains assets have been removed or drastically altered in such a way that the economic disparity is even more glaring, it shows that despite Wilfords idealism the train is dying regardless.

I wanted to like it. BJH’s film was great, but I couldn’t get past the first 20 minutes of the show.

I really liked the movie, I have no real interest in the show mostly because it had an ending already

Im liking it. Its got a slower pace and is still laying the foundation of the world, but it could build to a cool climax. My opinion on the movie was meh so i guess my expectations weren't that high.

The original movie was supposed to be an allegory and they turned it into a literal tv series? Sorry but thats completely dumb.

I agree.

It's a show we didn't need. That story was told, and told well.

I thought the premise for the movie was too far fetched. I could not imagine a TV series.
