Sat here for 10 minutes trying to be a smart ass and come up with things that rhyme with poem but you’re right

Technically, there are some very obscure perfects rhymes for poem. However, these rhymes are either names or conditional rhymes, so I didn't count them.

In the end, it is still ironic.

Thanks for reading!

Thank you kindly! I enjoy haiku as well. Very underrated, in my opinion!

I love this, it's a great clever bit of poetry that pokes fun at the nature of poetry in the sense that it's common for poems to be full of rhymes. It's also Great because you don't have to ponder its meaning and think about it which only makes it more ironic considering poetry is oversaturated with poems that require intense thought to get to the meaning of it, while this one goes right to the chase. Perhaps irony is great because it's so easy to use, but I thoroughly enjoy poems that have a specific message but also use irony. It's my favorite device. Suffice to say I think you did a great job.

Thank you very much! Wonderful analysis—you hit it right on the nose!

I appreciate the thought you put into it!

I love being challenged to rhyme, using combinations like show ‘em, no hymn, or any other elongated way to connect rhyming to a singular word. Although I will say it starts to feel like a song by Eminem!

Rhyming can be pretty fun! I enjoy it when I do use it.

Thank you for reading!

I love how this is not just a meta joke, but also a Haiku. It works really well, and is actually rather thought provoking when you immediately try to think if that's true. And it is!

This was a funny read. I always love the deadpan observational dry humor artist always have! How long did it take t come up with this and when did you realize poem didn’t rhyme with anything?

I honestly didn’t realize this until now so thanks for lifting my veil

I was actually looking up to see if a different word, angel, had any rhymes when I saw poem was also in the list of words without perfect rhymes. It was coincidental, but I quickly got the idea for the haiku after that.

The hardest part was actually finding the right words to fit the 5-7-5 syllable pattern for each line...! Still came out well, though.

Thanks for reading!

Just another note I bet the redditors at r/haiku would love to see this!
