I had an ilvl of 380 with several items above 400 when I started this questline. After getting demolished by the first mob I noticed I now have an ilvl of 260. All of my items above 300 are capped at 300, and now I'm screwed. I can't even kill a single low level mob.
Edit: I'm an idiot. When I switched spec I changed to an outdated gear set with the same tmog so I didn't notice.

While naz can be/feel tougher than open world KT/Zul, it doesn't scale your gear down.
Something else is going on.
Post a screenshot of your character screen. Maybe some piece of gear is broken or you accendently equipped a lower ilvl piece.
I’ve done that so many times, I think for me it’s an accidental triple click when I’m trying to collect gear appearances. I’ve gone as far as selling my actual gear. Bad times.
Probably broken gear, go to a blacksmith npc and repair then see.
Couple things: you might have equipped something that is supposed to be tmog. Also, are you using an add on that displays or in any way interacts wuth displaying your gear or ilvl? It could be bugged.
It will help if you post a pic of your char pane.
Did you go from having a single hand & an off hand to a staff or 2 handed weapon?
Nope, it's all the same items but they have lower ilvl now. The weird thing is I still qualify for heroic dungeons.
Only things I can think of are that you unequipped a piece of gear or gear needs to be repaired.
There is nothing in Nazjatar that I can recall that scales down your gear. As others said, a screens hit of your character page would help.
Does you gear scale down when you’re not in nazjatar? Were you in a group with someone lower level?
No. Ive been doing it on a 468 the last couple days and plowing through everything.
Could party sync be the culprit? I don't know the precise mechanics of it but maybe that can scale you down.
Are you holding your fishing pole? I've never persomally done that multiple times...
I used to have people remind me when I entered a dungeon that I had my fishing pole on.
Stupid question, but maybe you have death sickness?
Your gear serms to be broken or you accidentally equipped a lower ilvl piece.

Whilst I don't think this is the case, is all you gear repaired? It is been such a long time since I've had broken gear that I don't know if it lowers ilvl. Also, can you link your armory, it might help us find an answer for you.
just his in game name and server would be enough to check it up.
