Is it a sign of violence? Will my boyfriend do it again, but worse?

My boyfriend and I got into a fight last night and he pushed me over, held me a little bit tighter on my shoulders and pushed me around. He even choked me. But he did it all of those with about 1/10 or 2/10 force. Is this a red flag of domestic violence or should I just forgive his sorry? This is the first time he did this in our 1 yr 6 mo. relationship...

That is 100% a flag of domestic abuse. Abuse is very rarely if at all a one time thing

So are you saying this can be a one time thing only and I should wait and see? :<

I’m not a troll but thanks for clarifying that.

It always starts small. It's a test to see what you'll tolerate. It can and will get worse

Are you dumb or is this a shitpost? Obviously it's domestic violence, Break up with him.

But he didn’t do it with a lot of force. Not even enough to bruise me or what. Let’s say he was “acting it out.” Yeah I know I sound dumb but I’m just really hurt & confused right now.

Okay.but trying to choke somebody is too far, even if it wasn't with a lot of force.

Also quit defending him. End this crap right there coz he will for sure escalate it until he reallyvhurts you and youll regret wasting your time with him.

So what if he does it with a bit more force the next time? And then more the time after as he sees more and more that it’s an effective way to get what he wants? I understand you’re confused but don’t justify/defend his actions - under no circumstances should physical force be a normal solution to an argument.

The answer is yes. That is violence, he will do it again, and sticking around to wait and see is going to result in further violence. Dont kid yourself.

You're either a troll or willfully stupid. If he has to lay a hand on you AT ALL when arguing, then you get your ass out that door as fast as you can, and don't turn back.

How much is too much? The first time he touches you in anger. Get out. Now.

Choking is the worst which is why it’s become more own criminal offense. It always starts small - get out now while you can.

Partners who stay in abusive relationships get so emotionally beaten down that they forget how to be independant and strong.

Go go go.
