Yeah man take it easy today, from my point of view, you deserve it.

This poem made me laugh out loud, I've always wanted my poems to have a bit of humor in them, but they never end up like this! Beautiful syntax, formatting, and the way out spell out drowning really made me imagine that I'm drowning without even having any imageries about water. Brilliant!

Short and sweet, I really enjoyed the way the letters of drowning were given their own lines.

Nice, love the formatting and the humor :). Have a wonderful day! Don’t worry you ARE a fish!

I like the way that you formatted this, it's definitely interesting. The letters coming down one at a time give a sense of "drowning"

I love this poem! And is it meant to be read in a screamingish voice? Because of the ! ?

the formatting really adds to this poem and the “drowning” at the end adds a lot of movement. great work!

I think you hit the nail on the head about Shel Silverstein. His poetry is what came to mind when I read this. I feel the brevity of this poem is just right, and the emotional feeling it elicited out of me was certainly indicative of how a lot of us are feeling right now in these crazy times.

Thanks! Shel Silverstein certainly had a poignant sense of humor. E.E. Cummings used to play with ~~formatting~~ *typography* a lot.

Wonderfully thought through and stated response comment :)

It gave me more to chew and reason to re-read the post :) thank you for taking the time to do so.

This is a really nice piece of work. The use of format to play up the theme of the poem is quite nice, and really helps to give the poem a sense of humor (potentially even slightly morbid, given the rather serious statement being made). I also like the transition between rhyming in the first two lines, to unrhymed verse in the second two lines (assuming the final "drowning" can really be classified as one line, of course). Very nice job overall.

You wrote so little, but said so much.
,,Were just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl, year after year"- Wish you were here by Pink Floyd.

I absolutely *love* the way you formatted this. The exclamation point adds a sense of grim humor.

I really like this! It’s so short and simple, but it relates so well with how most people feel. The rhyming of the first two lines gives it a whimsical feel, but then finishes with something more serious. I very much enjoy short poems that say a lot. You did a great job at doing that!

I love love love when people are able to make something simple and totally clever at the same time.
Funny and fun! Well done!

Lovely. I liked the end of feeling as if we were drowning!

No problem! I am a graphic designer and this word comes to mind naturally. I personally look at letterforms as another layer of communication and a beautiful one too. 💓

Typography! I was looking for that word but could only think of “formatting.” Thanks!

Really enjoyed this quirky poem and your use of typography to “illustrate” the message. Really well done!!
