How I feel about gaming this month...

Terrible timing for a release.
Serious Sam is crazy fun. I loved playing with my brother on SS2, lots of cursing and laughing. Good times.
Throw this on the pile of this season's overlooked games along with Rayman Origins and Payday: the Heist.
Shadows of the Damned, Children of Eden, and El Shaddai being this Summer's ignored gems.
Payday was a pretty poorly executed great idea, imo. The mechanics and ballistics of the guns are pretty bad and I'm not a huge fan of doing the police L4D zombie style. The objective based gameplay is really awesome, even if some of the levels aren't designed that well.
I've heard similar complaints. Nonetheless, I have to pick it up at some point. I really want to play all of the games I mentioned...problem is that no one has them on r/gameswap. Eventually I'll get my hands on them.
I thought the graphics were terrible. Also, nothing like having every enemy bullet hit you.
I pubbed with the only 4 people online the other night in SS:HD. It was so much fun.
Fuck yeah, Serious Sam.
Me and a friend were just talking about this today.
I wish I could afford it but I spent all my dosh on skyrim :(
And now that I have actually gone to check r/gaming, it seems there's a number of SS3 posts sneaking in! Well done guys, I knew some of you would pull through.
If only I had the money this one slip pass my radar everything else was clogging it up.
I dunno man.. The first Serious Sam was awesome, because it was camp, low-budget and ugly but with damn nice playability and ridiculous humor.
Serious Sam 2... they had a bigger budget, end result not nearly as good.
Have to wait and see if Croteam got their edge back on SS3, but not getting my hopes up.
Never played 2 but I can say, with my 4 hours of gameplay, this seems to be right with First and Second encounter.
I bought it! :D
Me too. Waiting for friends to download it so we can do co-op campaign.
Serious Sam is still da shit! Gonna buy it tomorrow.
dude I got hammered with in Austin is the voice actor for Sam, he also DJ's at strip clubs. Pretty interesting night.
I will get this eventually, but for now... I am the Bat.
Oh Serious Sam; I think I love you. Sure you don't fit in well in a city and the secrets are insanely hard to find and you run like crap and you're exactly the same game and there are still those goddamn Kleer skeletons and I hear headless kamikazes in my nightmares and melee makes me warp and sometimes I'll do a useless kick instead of killing someone like the badass Sam is and reloading feels awful and there's no decent storyline just a bunch of events
I still love you, Sam.
I was looking forward to playing the shit out of this game.
But now, none of my friends are buying it, so I'd have nobody to co-op with.
My friends suck.
I just got my DOTA2 key so MW3 and Skyrim are going to collect dust for a few months. Also means I won't need to worry about steam sales either.
Could do with a demo really, although I enjoyed SS1 when it came out Im not sure Ill still enjoy that sort of experience all this time later.
Honestly, this is one of the games that will, probably, never sell amazingly in any one week (barring mad steam sales), but will continue to sell in a steady stream for years.
When games are made specifically for PC they turn out better imo.
I played this for a couple of hours tonight, it's really a blast. People got all excited about RAGE being a cool 'throwback' FPS but Serious Sam is the real throwback- it's the most raw fun I've had with a pure shooter in a long time. I hated RAGE, fwiw.
I think 3DRealms should make a short animation where Duke Nukem hands his crown and scepter to Sam, then hangs himself in a closet. Then they can finally move on to something new.
