Freshly tuned - EQT stage 2!

Just went stage 2 this Thursday and this thing is a beast!
A few new parts added -
IE downpipe
IE V2 open intake
Majesty FMIC
RS7 Spark plugs
034 Dogbone insert
and of course a new Cobb Accessport with EQT 93oct stage 2 with EQT DSG tune!

Its basically EQT or Sneekytuned at this point. I was sneekytuned. Loved it

I heard United Motorsports and IE is also good.

My VW mechanic recommends UM. I’ve heard really good things about their flex fuel tunes. I also believe they are the only ones with flex fuel.
I guess that doesn’t make your decision any easier 😅
Also if you decide to go for EQT, they do a boost weather sale around October/November.

Should’ve clarified, for Cobb accessport based tuning. Never been a fan of ots tunes.

I saw a video of a mk7 with 91oct with no intercooler, and that specific car made 294hp and 365tq to the wheels on a dynojet.
If anyone knows actual dyno results of EQT stage 2 93oct, i’d be curious to know.

I know you've probably seen the EQT dyno page but just for reference they say
2019 gti
Stg 1 91 = 310hp 375trq
Stg 1 e30 =355hp 410trq
Stg 2 91 = 330hp 390trq
Stg 2 e30 =370 440trq
So I would guess you're right in the mark of about ~340hp 400trq at 93 petrol
And just for anyone else reading this, those numbers for e30 aren't typos. That mix actually gives you massive HP gains.

No burbles! I decided against it last second. I don’t regret it haha.
It’s mainly because I don’t like the sound of EQTs burbles, they’re more like crackles, they’re a little too aggressive for me.
Ideally I would want actual burbles. Multiple, quick, low toned, deep sounding burbles. Maybe I could ask for a custom burble in the future.

ive been on eqt for a couple months now and ive learned it gets more gunshot-y and violent the higher the revs are. but if you let off the gas around 2700 rpms in second gear, you can get some nice and low rumbly pops. but i completely understand.

how do you like the majesty fmic? any data on IAT?

Honestly I wouldn’t recommend it.
They sent me the wrong piping, so the piping that connects to my stock intercooler is bigger than it should be. I guess they sent me piping for an aftermarket stock location intercooler?
It had to be really clamped down and secured and i’m still afraid it might come undone. Gotta keep an eye on it while I reach out to them.
I got it because it had good testing results even though it’s an Ebay product. But I should’ve taken into account that it’s a Ebay product lol. If something is wrong it’s gonna be a pain in the ass to remedy. I’ll probably just buy new pipes from someone else if they don’t work with me.

The majestic hoses have always been the wrong diameter. I guess people have been using more hose to reduce it but IMO that's a deal breaker for me.

Question about the EQT tunes, do you have to take it somewhere to get it tuned or can you order it and do it yourself? The closest dealer for EQT is like 3+ hours from me so I want something I can do it myself if possible.

Their tunes are through a Cobb AP so I think you order it and do it yourself.

What made you choose the fmic instead of the IE intercooler?

Ease(ier) of install and looks. I wanted to get rid of the silver look of the stock intercooler. I really wanted a black FMIC and Majesty was one of the few companies that made one.

You have the cover for the intake?
I have one without the cover, noticed the seal doesn't actually contact the hood
Just wondering if you've found a solution for that

No cover, I wanted the extra sound.
I actually haven't notice that issue but I'll take a closer look tomorrow, I'll let you know!

I run it without the insulation under the hood, used some silicone grease to check for contact, put blobs along the bulb seal, made them nice and tall, and used them to check

Yes lowered on EMD springs with EMD rear reverse-rake pads. Without the pads it actually sat lower in the back than the front.

How much lower do the springs put you at measurement wise? This looks perfect haha

Website says Approximately 1.6" Front & Rear. No rubbing at all and I didn’t even do fender screw mod. I want to put summer tires on but I honestly don’t wanna mess with it because it is so perfect.

Honestly the USDM 7.5 tails look so good.
When I had my mk6, euro tails were on the very top of the list of mods. With this 7.5, it’s no where close to the top lol.
I love the 7.5 euro tails but I don’t think I can really justify ~$800 for it when I have great tails already. I’ll probably forget I said this in the future though LOL

Couldn't agree more. I personally think the US LED tails look better than the Euro ones with the squares. Fun fact, they have our tails over there too but they're "low" line or something like that; identical but they have an amber turn signal rather than ours that just use the brake light. Jealous of that, may try and pick a pair of outers up at some point.

I was actually very surprised when I heard the first start up, I didn’t expect for it to sound so nice.

Not tinted but I have a Badgeskins overlay on the white part of the taillights. My friend in the WSM in front of me doesn’t have it, you can see the difference.
Makes the tails look a lot better IMO 👌

They're Konig Ampliform 18x8.5 +43 on 245/40 Goodyear Eagle Exhilarate, 10mm spacer in the rear.
Did you buy aftermarket bolts for the wheels?
Yessir 10mm longer lug bolts for the rears 👍 They’re conical seats as well compared to OEM ball seats
Did you have to convert the hub to mount your konigs or are you still OEM?
I, too, have Eagle Exhilarate tires and have found them quite agreeable.
Bruh idk how you guys run such wide tires and wheels. I have a 18x8 +43 with 225/40 and I wanted to go 235 last time I got tires and had to return them cause I rubbed like crazy in the front on the smallest of bumps.
I run 235/40/18 and 18x8.5 et45 wheels on my R as my winter setup with no issues

have you removed the those fender screws in the front wheel well/fender liners? I'm on 18x8.5 wheels and don't rub at all with 235/40 tires - I did rub pretty often before removing those screws though (was on VWR Springs at the time, now on Bilstein coils - no rub with either setup)
