Blinds or curtains?

Just bought my first home!

I have windows with full trim around them and open vertically with a sash weight system “old house 1960s” typically when installing blinds you install them inside the window frame, but since the weight system opens vertically they would get in the way, is there blinds that install on the outside of a window frame? Or should I just go with plain ol curtains?

Appreciate the help.

Edit 1: I know outside mounts exist but there is two inch window trim around the entire window. So was wondering what y’all think?

I’d go with spectacular curtains on a splendid curtain rod installed close to the ceiling and as wide as you can. The windows and trim are lovely and you should show them off! Close the curtains when you want privacy. And congrats on your first home!

Could you use L brackets to screw blinds in sideways, if I understand correctly, but then tie in on the front side into your jack stud?

I think drapes would look best. Sheers somewhere you don't need to block a lot of light or have complete privacy. They also make these cool brackets that slip behind the window trim. https://www.amazon.com/Kwik-Hang-ROD-BRACKETS-BLACK/dp/B07SQFZQBZ
