Just curious, it should be view-able even if you don't login to Facebook right? It works for me when I open it in an incognito browser window.
I wonder if the issue is some people use an ad blocker or something that just blocks all of facebook.com entirely.

I use an adblocker and can't see the photo. The simple act of requesting an image from another site actually gives that hosting site a fair amount of information about you. Source: am web developer
