I have been in a very stressful time in my life and am about to take a new journey and went through all of these emotions

Thankyou...no it wasn't intention but keys keep that between us....everyone else...yeah intentional lol. I'm trying to get more of an online following for my poetry. DM if you want my poetry Insta I just started it tonight, idk if I'm allowed to post that here though.

I like this line: "Taking my first step forward I inhale my first breath"
I can tell this poem means something to you personally, and I can see how it can relate to others as well. This poem almost makes me think of a story arc. I like the call back to the title at the last line.

I think you could turn this into a song or more lryical. I don't think it's essential for the poem, I do like the poem, it could be an interesting dimension. It does give me similar vibes to what a song could have.

Not sure if this was intentional, but I found it interesting. Alot in the poem it relates to eyes: "staring, cry, blind, darkness, eyes, light,". I think it adds to your overall idea of not being able to find your path. If it was not intentional, I think you should capitalize on it. Thanks for sharing!

No I mean the first and second half of this. This is the whole thing lol, it shoukd have a space in the middle but couldn't format it like that on reddit.

Well you should definitely think about posting that other half I do think though how the poem ended with a new chapter beginning was really good too

Thank-you I'm glad you enjoyed reading it. To be honest when i wrote the first half I was going through a lot and didn't finish the second half at the same time.

I like how all people at any stage in their lives could identify with this poem. I know I could. The beginning is really good at portraying someone lost and confused in life, not knowing if where they are in life or what they’re doing is the right choice. With recent big changes in my life, it really reached me. I like how nothing too specific was mentioned, allowing anyone to relate. And I appreciate how uplifting the ending was, describing a strong person who “stands tall”. The peace the narrator gains is what really left the poem off with a positive note for me. Love the line “I exhale my past and fill my lungs with tranquility”

Contemplating the future I fear the unknown. 

I anxiously wait for tomorrow: and the day passes.

Staring into the night I search for my guardian angels.

Guide me I cry, leaving my life up to fate. 

I fall off course and begin to stray.

It's too late to turn back,

I've become lost.

Lead by the blind I try to find my way.

The darkness fades.





I open my eyes to the horizon.

The sun rises and a new day begins. 

I stumble to the realization this is the right path.

A light of hope. 

With a newfound warmth I lift my spirits. 

I stand tall with planted feet.

Taking my first step forward I inhale my first breath.

I exhale my past and fill my lungs with tranquility. 

A new chapter begins.
