Do you recall your first played tag, and if so, which one was it?

Corvuria, because it was more or less in the middle and had empty space, I then thought everyone had a vampire estate and was delighted and devastated in equal measure to find they didn’t
After looking what my oldest message in the discord is, apparantly Gawed (My heir had become a bluefoot halfling through an event, which I felt like sharing), followed shortly by Aelnar when it was still in testing phases. And now I made an elf tree that's even bigger than Aelnar's, such a bad influence
The curse of the elf influence Great job on the MT btw!
I first played as Ruby Company. I saw the narrow map to play on with lots of colonization space as a super fun game. When I first started playing that campaign I did not know about race modifiers. I went to put my small little 4K starting army on an open tile to colonize. Army got there before colonist and got wiped out by the goblins. I cycled this 5 times over thinking it was terrible luck before realizing they were guaranteed to attack. I also never migrated to the nearby hold….. until I reset and had a great time.
Asra Expedition into Aul-Dwarov. The first time exploring the Serpentspine from end to end was the coolest EU4 experience I've had, hands down.
That was my first as well and I LOVED it. I only found the mod because of Arumba’s Asra play through, and I knew they needed to be my first.
The dwarves have such a fun and unique gameplay. It was fun traveling thru the tunnels and exploring, finding the holds, and clearing out the Goblins. I even vassalized a few of the other explorers after forming Amldihr (blue shield, ruby company, mithril arm). I kinda wish Amldihr was more vassal focused, and got a unique CB to vassalize the other dwarven explorers/remnants regardless of size (like Black Invasion) and fully annexed all after forming Aul Dwarovar, but that’d be a little too powerful.
yep Im the same as you two found the mod through Arumba and then proceeded to have fun exploring the serpent spine, nothing beats going into your first dwarves playthrough completely blind and not knowing the map really feels like an adventure
Nimscodd, baybee
same!
Bruh the third world artificers
Gawed, glorious Gawed.
Ovdal Kanzad. They are neat, though mid game was boring colonization towards verkal gulan & others, spiced up by the Command trying to break in occasionally.
Same. The tiny isolated square of a country buried inside a mountain, looked interesting and unlike vanilla EU4 and it was.
Venail, was in for a real surprise with that one
For me, it was Arbaran, before their had their own MT. I recall seeing it as the NotAustria which didn't start in such a strong position, which made it fun.
Vern before they had mission
Ibevar, but they had no mission tree and many tags had ugly black and reds shiels and in the south some provinces had names from vanilla. I decided to wait.
First one? One of the orcish tribes in the way back machine, before Dwarovar was even a thing.
A custom nation in one of 0/0/0 provinces with full colonist ideas ... ended prety bad
So, how does the game function like that? Was your only source of money the base tax income all nations get as a baseline?
At first yes but you have to develop a bit (cheaper at first)
I’ve actually managed to get games like those working. You can colonize all of the provinces…if they have development. It takes forever to do that, but hey it can be done. Just make a custom nation, dev up everything, then delete it. Make a new one and you’re good to go.
You cant start colonizastion without dev you need at least 1 and only thing allows that is siberian frontinier (takes a lot of time)
True, I’ve done that before as well. It’s just less fun for me personally, plus I like having something I can colonize late late game whenever I’m playing a colonizer like Busilar. Manually devving everything is a huge time sink, but rewarding once colonization begins
Either Venaíl (before missions) or Lorent.
Birsantses or Wex.
Verne. Idk why. I guess i just like Wyverns and stuff.
Lorent — haven’t touched them since
Technically, my first game was as Lorent, and I immediately crashed after opening the estates tab. I was just seeing what Anbennar had to offer, and after seeing that I left it on the backburner.
Several months later, my real first game was Verne.
Jaddari. I came to show the dwarves the light but found my home in the caves.
It was Lorent, it was bugged and I joined the discord to report the bug. Look at me now.
This was quite similar to my experience. Lorent first. Only Cannor was really in game. Kind of broken then ;)
