Is this what I’m experiencing?

Ever since I was a little kid, I’ve had the ability to “flex” my ears and pop them. They don’t always pop, but it sometimes works. It also makes a mild crackling when I initially flex them. After hearing about this phenomenon, I realize that if I keep flexing, I can indeed hear the rumble described.

Is the rumbles indeed something I can do, then? What do y’all think?

Also do you guys also get the crackles? Can flexing the muscle also pop your guys ears?

Ah neat! Looks like I can do both.

Seems like many who can do both can also wiggle their ears, unfortunately I lack that specific ability.

After some trial and error, I can sorta rumble without the clicks, too. Neato

I'm more of a clicker than a rumbler. When I rumble it feels more like yawning with my mouth closed. I can wiggle my ears. The muscles for wiggling and clicking feel somehow similar.

Also, despite the constant equalisation, my ears can't deal with significant pressure changes for crap and I was basically a sentient ear infection as a kid.

Eustachian tube dysfunction seems to be my lot in life.

So, yay ears?
