Fearful Feelings
It’s all an illusion,
This feeling called “Love”.
Symptoms of delusion,
I am afraid of.
I felt it once before,
Sent by an old friend.
Someone I would adore,
’Til the very end.
But I was not enough,
Or maybe too much?
Your words merely a bluff
My heart dared to touch.
I searched to find feeling
For over three years.
A sense of faux healing
Is all that appears.
My memories destroyed,
Repressed and jaded.
Emotions are devoid,
My mind, degraded.
A man disturbed the pain,
Scarred and scared like me.
He smells of summer’s rain,
Warm like golden tea.
Our lives now intertwined,
Cut from the same cloth.
A beautiful, rare find
Like an Atlas moth.
The illusion returns,
Stronger than before,
But it’s not me he yearns.
I wish I was more.
