Put some caps on it before it leaks shifter fluid

PipebendingfoolOP•

Will do. Will update Monday. Might need to put a gauge on it too to make sure the PSI is good

PipebendingfoolOP•

Couldn’t put caps on and a gauge on today. This weekend coming up, I guarantee it’ll pass code and pressure tested as well.

Will definitely update on Sunday/Monday

That's like $22 in material just for the 2 pp fittings

I had some lying around after my house re-pipe. Also the aftermarket knobs don’t really hold up that well and are around $10-$25. Had a few beers last night and I came up with this.

Worth it !!!

Thank you! All my pipe fitting friends got a kick out of it. Modern problems require modern solutions

Anti microbial shifter handle

16
PipebendingfoolOP•

I’ll insulate it later. I kind want it to breath right now and maybe run some chlorine through it for 2 hours

8

If you insulate it, the surface you will touch will no longer have anti-microbe properties.

Then again at least you won’t feel the fury of the sun in the summer or lose sensation in your hand I’m the winter.

To summerize pipes lol

Should have used SharkBite

And pex . 😅

This will never hold up…why doesn’t anyone solder anymore?

9
Glabstaxks•

😂

3
PipebendingfoolOP•

I’ll do pex for the condensate later. You can never be too careful.

4
Glabstaxks•

😂🤣

PipebendingfoolOP•

Yeeaaahhh no

Thought they want a bigger gap between presses just sayin

Edit Guess I need to add /s

Need some caps on tho

3
PipebendingfoolOP•

I gotchu. I can’t extend it out anymore since it’ll drag into my leg, but I might fit up a street 90 and sweat a cap. Might throw a gauge on the the side. I’m gonna get real weird with it.

pooslayer69•

zoomed in to make sure you pressed it and it appears you did

3
meticulous_jollier•

Ok, jokes aside: what would one do to break the stick shift knob??

The solution looks stylish to me, by the way.

3
PipebendingfoolOP•

When I bought the truck from my friend, I asked where the knob was? My friend said,”yeaahh it’s in the glove compartment.” Whatever held the knob on, just came apart from shifting and summer heat and cold expansion/contraction. Weird, but with the tee fitting, it feels really solid while shifting. Feels good in the hands and definitely more control while driving in my opinion

2
DigDude97•

Did you actually press it? Or just pushed it on there.

3
PipebendingfoolOP•

I pressed it. I wrapped some super 33 around the portion where I was going to press it to get a snug fit and not damage the metal on the stick. Also so I can get the fitting off later just in case

love it

2
bubblewrapbones•

If you leave it how it is, it'll get some real cool patina over time

2

Until a junkie breaks into your shit to steal it.

2
FourDM•

That's an expensive shift knob.

2
charmon3•

Poolball grip would have been cheaper lol

MaineLobster4938•

Looks expensive

2
Slcolderguy•

I think you are “crimping” on buying a real knob.

2
PipebendingfoolOP•

Crimping ain’t easy

frymaster0957•

2
Pitweiler55•
