Reality isn’t real.

Poem

What’s real?

What’s not real?

What’s reality?

What if we were conditioned to believe in reality?

How do we know reality really exists?

How can we know what’s real?

How do I know you are real?

How do you know I’m real?

What if we both aren’t real?

What if we both are real?

What if I’m apart of your dream?

What if you’re apart of my dream?

How do I know if I’m dreaming?

What if I’m a fragmented part of your imagination?

What if you aren’t really who you think you are?

What if the reflection in the mirror isn’t me?

What if my hands aren’t really mine?

How do I know you are who you say you are?

What if I’m not me?

What if you’re in a coma?

What if you died years ago?

What if I’m dead?

Does that mean you’re dead too?

Hello readers, welcome to OCpoetry. This subreddit is a writing workshop community -- a place where poets of all skill levels can share, enjoy, and talk about each other's poetry. Every person who's shared, including the OP above, has given some feedback (those are the links in the post) and hopes to receive some in return (from you, the readers).

If you really enjoyed this poem and just want to drop a quick comment, to show some appreciation or give kudos, things like "great job!" or "made me cry", or "loved it" or "so relateable", please do. Everyone loves a compliment. Thanks for taking the time to read and enjoy.

If you want to share your own poem, you'll need to give this writer some detailed feedback. Good feedback explains from your point of view what it was like to read the poem, and then tries to explain how the poem made you feel like that. If you're not sure what that means, check out our feedback guide, or look through the comment sections of any other post here, or click the links to the author's feedback above. If you're not sure whether your comments are feedback, or you have any other questions, please send us a modmail.

Each verse seems that it can be a poem himself. I like the theme you chose, I think you can have as inspiration both fear and curiosity. Your poem feels like a free throw in abyss, once you start asking yourself these questions you have already drunk your venom you can't go back, I think this is the best description I can give, the theme chosen in the poem is a pretty deep one but you managed to interpret it well enough, keep writing

These questions were funny to ask myself the first time around. On the second read-through, I thought. Now my head is spinning. In all seriousness, nice work. These are actual questions that sort of resonate with me because of bad experiences I’ve had. It could also work as a whimsical, funny poem. The structure works well for this kind of poem, and the punctuation is great. Nice work!
