And in her statement afterward she says she's disappointed her "mountains of evidence" couldn't stand up to Depp's power and influence. Maybe that's because the only "evidence" you provided was your own account of events and contradictory photos and statements.

She's so deluded, it's hurts. Pls institunalise her asap

16
magicchefdmb•

But she looked at the jury. That’s gotta count for something!

2
cantseedeeznuts•

Ha!!!

Her net worth is only 8M...

97
IntermetallicAMOP•

That's perfect. He was awarded $10.35M but she was also awarded $2M, so that's a NET $8.35M to Johnny

80
cantseedeeznuts•

She'll have to find a new bed to poop in on Broke Bitch Mountain.

77
splashbodge•

I'm sure she'll be going back to Elon to help her

8
cantseedeeznuts•

He'll want her back at the office, 40 hrs. a week no doubt...

16
Touny420•

Plus the 6 million dollar attorney fees she has to pay and the 7 million in donations to the ACLU. Shes fucked 😂😂

49
Gellfling•

I thought he was awarded 15 million (10 million in compensatory damages and 5 million in punitive damages), and she was awarded 2 million, which should mean its a total of 13 million to Johnny. Where's the 10.35 million coming from?

10
caalger•

Maximum punitive damages was 350k so they were reduced to that amount.

25
Gellfling•

Ah, so it's a legal maximum and the jury probably didn't know about it then?

7

He was actually awarded $15 million in total, she was awarded $2 mil

-9
IntermetallicAMOP•

The jury awarded him $5M in punitive damages, but the judge reduced that to the legal maximum of $350k

11
londonmenace•

And his and her court costs.

52
morto00x•

More than the $10M, the biggest outcome from the verdict is that Depp's reputation is cleared and he becomes employable by big name productions again.

51
Izaran•

Except he won't. Hollyweird won't break from their narrative of worshipping the ground she walks.

And if they do (or already have), I'm ecstatic to be wrong.

24
SpeakeasyG1887•

Well I, for one, hope they do, because Johnny was the victim! He wasn’t the perpetrator! Johnny had to deal with years of this crap only to come out smelling like shit the other side and now he has been proven innocent, I’m so fucking happy words cannot possibly express, GO JOHNNY!

10
rubikonfused•

Upvoting 'cause I also want you to be ecstatic to be wrong.

2
Reverendbread•

Even if they don’t want to change their opinion of the situation, I can’t imagine many casting directors will want to hire her after that terrible acting job on the stand

2
cyclopeon•

Yeah I'm pretty sure he'll be fine...as long as the alcohol and drugs don't mess everything up. He's been on a downward trajectory for a while now.

IMO, this whole trial was a publicity test for Depp. There has never been such clarity on the opinion of his fan base since the allegations. This trial gave Depp the opportunity to show that he’s not “canceled” and that he has enough people that will consume films he is cast in.

ETA: having watched the trial, I’m not convinced that he either intended to or succeeded in clearing his name.

That could be her hobby!

Good, both are abusive airhead addict celebs; hopefully they both leave the news cycle immediately. Depp can go make Disney Pirate Extravaganza part 37 and Heard can go do whatever she does

20†

The equivalence claim insults victims of abuse. Please consider actual abuse victims who have followed this trial with more than an interest in the lives of celebrities. As a survivor I'm relieved that abuse has been in the spotlight and moved the conversation forward.

38
10sharks•

Since the narrative appears to be "Depp won, Me Too is over", I'm not sure the spotlight is going to be where you'd like it. I think the best hope for victims of abuse and those of us who commiserate with them is that people write this whole affair off like I did in my original post.

1†

But Depp wouldn’t do another Pirates movie for $100 million and 1000 alpacas...

1†
NegroPlox•

Why not? I thought a big part of the court case was that the article she published costed him his role in the next Pirates movie. I haven’t been paying too much attention to the case though I just thought I heard that.

0†

I know it for a fact because Depp said in the trial that he wouldn’t do it for $100m and 1k Alpcas.

2
NegroPlox•

Ahh I understand. Like I said I didn’t pay attention to it much. I guess being uninformed and asking about it to learn is a way to get downvoted

How do they calculate the damages? I thought he had lost the Pirates of the Caribbean film due to the allegations which cost him $40m.

I’ve actually always wanted to know the process behind valuing the impact of damages on an individual.
