[2,399] Insurgent’s Tale (sci-fi)
Link below. Backstory if interested: 😁
Set in the World of Crestfall
The year is 4750 (Aramac Calendar), and he Aramar capital is experiencing riots like never seen before.
For the better part of a generation, the Aramar kingdom had been experiencing incursions from the north. They had themselves opened trade routes and military adventurism northward into the cold and desolate parts of the continent. They had expecting quick conquests and easy access to resources. Instead they had awoken a sleeping giant.
What they REALLY did not expect was the southward flowing cultural impact of Northern (Crea) religion and language on the youth of the Aramar Kingdom. The philosophies and talk, and religion... and the psychedelic drugs used by Crea shamans had become fashionable among the youths. A generational fracture never before seen in Aramar life was splitting up their kingdom. All of a sudden the youth were fluent in a trendy and exotic alien language. They suddenly upheld values wholly different than their parents. This was NOT foretold by any of the Aramar prophets or astronomers, who were usually able to predict great changes in their society.
Then came the sickness. It spread fast, down from the north. It changed people who got sick. Infected their minds somehow. Long after the symptoms were gone, those who recovered were... different. The fracture of the empire was at hand, and it would never be the same again.
This is the story of one young man, caught up in this tumultuous period. Split by the genration gap, the wealth gap, the health gap, and the churn of cultural upheaval.
