i feel like this is something mac demarco wrote when he was bored, then he left the poem in his car and forgot about it. 10/10

I like this poem so much and I don’t even drink Diet Coke. I love the fantastical writing, even though the author is describing such a mundane thing. The alliteration in the second line sets a pleasant rhythm, and I love all the unique words the author used.

I really liked this. I get a feeling of 'taking delight in the little things' when I read this. I like how the poem itself is short and simple but uses the words 'saccharine' and 'effervescent' which aren't very common words and so gives the poem some sort of unique quality that makes it stand out. Also, is the 'you remember my name' line a reference to that marketing campaign where Coca Cola printed names on their bottles and cans? It really personifies the coke can in the poem which I like

Brilliant use of personification. What made me like the poem were the lines: "I lust for you, supple saccharine delight. You who add no weight, and take only time." Truly, smart use of words to describe diet coke and how the poem was crafted to have a pleasant beat to it.

To the Diet Coke on my passenger seat floor
