Blame'em All!

Poem

How easy is to blame.

How liberating can it be.

How addictive can it be.

Boy, if I know...

I spent my life high on it,

I blamed others for my own problems,

I blamed my parents for my lack of skills,

I blamed my teachers for my lack of knowledge,

I blamed my friends for my lack of happiness,

I blamed my past self for my lack of achievements,

I blamed society for how wrong I felt inside.

I felt invincible,

like a goalkeeper, who keeps saving his team from losing.

I was blaming others ,yet nothing I was doing to improve.

Eventually I found myself alone,

Left with no one else to blame.

Left with no passions.

Left with no willpower.

Left with no skills.

Left with no purpose.

The comedown struck me like a truck.

I felt weak and small.

An empty shell,

With nerves made of paper,

Backbone made of jelly,

And the personality of plain rice.

The balls I was deflecting were balls of flaming waste.

My head is fulls of shit,

My heart is scorched.

Sometimes it's better to let the ball get in,

No matter how painful or sad it may seem.

I'm still getting comfortable with rhymes, but this is a very important piece to me.

Thanks for taking the time to read it :)
