Pilot (the first poem I'm sharing, please let me know what you think!)

Poem

I was just going through my old diaries,

When I noticed the murmurs written have been the same for the past year,

Discovering multiple ways to address the same debates and fears,

And the torturing machines of my barbarian peers.

But I don't want to live in cage,

So I escaped and threw the key away,

After the vain hall I used to devotionally deck,

Has been locked in the memory and candle-lit.

So what's the way I'll turn?

Am I on the edge of your encounter?

Do I still want to sway to the flickering fate?

Or do I want to be the pilot of my whims?

My deepest self is nothing like me,

With the way taken being leaned toward nothing,

Just adjusting the line after every occuring bite,

Pretentiously brave, potentially blind.

Hate being a detail of the hedonist scene,

Exhausted, doubled the struggle, I'll fight dragons,

Punch piercers and cannibals,

And furious lovers of the futile.

So what's the way I'll turn?

Am I on the edge of your encounter?

Do I still want to sway to the flickering fate?

Or do I want to be the pilot of my whims?

And I'll be a pilot,

I'll be the pilot who'll show you the world,

Who'll make you forget the wolves in the woods,

And never give you reason of regret, of looking back:

There's music out there waiting to be danced.

I don't want to be nothing anymore,

I don't want to be a joke anymore,

I want to be the pilot of my dreams,

I will be the pilot of my dreams.
