Limbs

Poem
Domesticity of the kiss
Close the space between us, we fall
Unharnessed, the edge of a precipice,
I’m scared.

Tingling, I claw and tear
At your absence like a phantom limb,
The wound no longer there.
But the patient’s gone blind,
And blood thirsty.

Listening to Sunday morning
As the light pours on your face,
Carve pointed peaks and sullen valleys
Into the backs of my eyes they trace.

Swerving down the freeway, burnt rubber afloat
Pull my hands from the wheel
And let yours down my throat.
Crunching bones, swallowed flesh
We’re far gone.

Your hands are scarlet fever
Slow death by original sin,
Hold me close until you crack my ribs
Clearing space to crawl in.

Ever the contrarian,
You even hate aphex twin,
It’s sad to never show your teeth
But a smile means a hole in your armor.

Started going gray since I met you
Turns out it’s quite the trend,
Now it’s cool to be sad
Conveniently keeps from meeting our end.

I dream of things left unsaid,
Then wake next to you stunned silent
Keep the promise of your touch and breath,
You like me so compliant.

You see mirrors in my eyeballs
Hear your voice from my throat,
We were made for each other, you whisper
Feed me sanguine sugar coat.

Shiny little pools of my eyes
In my mouth, between my thighs.
You search my insides for your image, a forlorn Narcissus
To make love to me
And drown us both trying to love yourself.

In our world, population two
The floor is lava, I reach for you.
My drink of water turns solid ice,
Noah’s Arc dissolved to wood chips,
Staring at an old reflection
You’re gone.

Had some issues with spacing so did a code block - thanks for reading!
