All the love I've ever had

Poem

All the love I’ve ever had
I harvested it
Spooned it into tiny cups
And fed them to you, sick in bed,
Throughout the night
To see us together for another day.

All the love I’ve ever had
If I could still give it to you,
I would
If only you were ever here -
I’d spoon it to your lips
A fountain, a punch straight to my teeth.

All the love I’ve ever had
If things hadn’t gone so south so soon
I would’ve cupped it in my hands,
A seedling, so sweet
So precious
I would’ve kept it safe
If only you could’ve given me a cup of water

All the love I’ve ever had
If I had it to give
I’d hand it to you,
Fall into your arms,
Ask you if you’d take me
If that kind of love
Was the love I needed

All the love I’ve never had
If only I had it to give.
