In Love In Late August

I see moths swarm underneath the streetlights,

Mesmerized, as if they witnessed

The first rising of the sun.

Fireflies dance beside my feet,

As I feel a warmth in the cool air,

A last tender embrace from the navy-blue sky

As if she came one last time

To kiss me goodbye.

Summer is slowly fleeing,

Though in love,

My soul will stay.

This is all I've asked the world for-

It knew how much I longed for a love

That takes me to the other side.

One that feels more enchanting than my wildest dreams-

Where my soul shines bright

Through a kaleidoscope lense.

It is a colorful love that speaks to me

Through its stillness,

A new experience for my heart

That only felt passion

Through the depths of the flames.

The world around me glows into a mellow hue,

And words cannot express my gratitude

For the love I'm yet to feel.

All that's around me I know is meant to be.

Deep in my core, He found my light.
