I understand what your saying. those three lines were indeed my core message. But I was playing around with the format of the number of words on each line. But I like the idea of a haiku as well!

I really like this poem, it’s very short but conveys a lot. Maybe I’m missing something but the line breaks seem awkward to me. I also feel the last three lines could be stand-alone, the first two lines aren’t contributing much imo. I think because the poem is too short, you could try and write it in haiku format, maybe this : 

I feel sad because 


I already am missing 


What we never had.

Thank you! I have tried many different versions for several words, so it was definitely an “issue” on this poem. I’m going to try different words again

I really like the lines "I already miss that thing we never had." I love that this is short and pointed. The one part where I wonder if it could be filled out a bit is "i feel sad". is there a more descriptive word that could be used to describe how this feels? Hard though cause of the rhyming, hmmm. It's great as is, thank you for sharing it!

Wow thank you, that’s very kind! I wrote quite a few of these short ones (this is the first one I posted though). I like them too because they usually come to my mind as a whole and they grasp exactly how I feel in that moment. Which is usually the tip of the iceberg of deeper feelings and all kinds of experiences. I just have to play around with the words and format a bit.

This is one of the shortest poems I've read here and yet it's incredible. Short and to the point. Sometimes, that's how life is. These lines were reminiscent of Johnny Cash.

I couldn't imagine this poem being changed and still having the same punch. Perfect as-is.

I love the brevity of this poem and how it gives depth to the idea behind it. I felt that the way the line breaks fall forming the shape and structure reflects what is being said. I especially liked the way it 'I' is alone at the start leaving me to linger and focus the emotions being felt on the poet. (Idk if im making sense). It is a beautiful read.
