architect

how is the weather up there
in your castle in the sky?
does it rain wishes and stardust
shine moonlight and dreams
hail pieces of asteroids
for you to keep?

what do you do
to wile the time away?
do you spend your days
in the milky way? swimming
in seas of galaxies and
places where the sun can't reach?

i wish you could tell me
but the moon must not have
good reception
because you never seem
to receive my messages

and i can't visit you
(see, they won't let me book
a flight to the moon)
and i'm too afraid to send letters
because i'm scared i'll write
the wrong address
or the postman will refuse
to travel all the way to you
so i guess i'll wait for you
to come back home

do you think you’ll be back soon?
it's a little lonely here, without you
but it's okay because
whenever the moon is full
i‘ll look up and know you're there
in your castle in the sky

i'm just getting a little tired
of waiting.
