Liminal sea
The bright mist of another sunset,
Summer on your lips, and all I can think of is snow
The trees shed their color,
Like fields after decades of rainfall
Your face like a distant facade,
I think I could paint it with just a dream
There’s a flower in your hand,
Iris shimmering under your brow
Put another thorn through my heart,
I think I’m getting used to it now
Long and narrow, the stretch of time
Between you and me
I cannot stay long,
I always end up where I’m not supposed to be
You turn with the leaves,
Depart with a sigh
And I’m left lonely, disappointed,
Because that’s no way to say goodbye
