Hello Moon
Hello moon, Plastered in egg shell white Dotted in awe of the heavens. Wrapped in your blanket of black And comets. Stealing my breath Like gold was exhaling.
Hello moon, You beautiful creature. Dripping stars in cosmic dances Crickets chirping in midnight tunes.
You saw it all…. You perched up high on top Your mountain,
while my mother Choked on cancer. You watched Each night before my slumber Pray to god she’d live another.
Silent even when I’m pleading Silent even when I’m thrashing Silent even when I’m wailing Silent even when I’m fading.
All I want is just a whisper Just a sound to know you care All I want is just a whimper Just to know you’re even there.
….hello moon.

I loved this poem. Very powerful. I love your language, in the beginning very sensual and playful it made me want to stand up. And all of that makes the switch that much more powerful. I felt my heart sink. Wonderful language and structure. And works beautifully read or spoken. Well done!
