Adam to Eve in Eden
What will make my garden grow?
I’ve planted seeds for every kind of flora imaginable
Yet, no matter how it storms and showers,
No matter how rich the soil,
No matter the pesticides I use to keep intruders away,
It cannot seem to thrive.
But, aha! I have the key!
In order for one to live,
Something first must die!
So, darling,
I will wrap you in the warmth of my sun-kissed soil
Blessed to me by God Himself.
Buried but not yet forgotten;
The forget-me-nots are in season.
Is it not beautiful?
That your body, dead and old and rotted,
Will help my garden live a beautiful life?
Though you no longer feel,
I flourish
Like the daisies you push.
You are one of many.
Winter approaches.
