My anger is trapped on an island in my mind
My anger is trapped on an island in my mind.
A man who screams out the name of everyone who has rejected me.
A lion who roars in jealousy over the expensive steak I can't afford.
"Fuck capitalism" she cries.
Id need a boat to retrieve them
How can I feel the anger when it's a million miles away
I keep walking
"I don't need that steak" I say
"I'm a good girl who doesn't spend money"
I don't need money
Life is fair.
Life is good.
Life is what you make it.
A lullaby of Lies I whisper in the lions ear
I pull the blindfold tighter around her piercings angry eyes
But her vision is too good
She can see through my flimsy scarf
And I know one day her jaws will snap the gag
my worst fear will be realized
I will have no control
No calm facade to hide behind
Just pure endless blinding rage
And I'll have to do something scary to calm her-
Change.
