Let my soul be baptized in your beauty
Let my soul be baptized in your beauty,
Inexorably leading me to that shrine
I call your eyes,
As my sight climbs the stairs to heaven
By each glimpse of your upper lip
I grow closer to paradise,
The celestial and the mortal collide
In that single speck of flesh
You so proudly possess,
The universe unfolds within your every breath,
I can trace the dust of creation
From your every exhalation,
The sculptor who built the first face
Borrowed from your beauty,
The canvas of the Renaissance
Was molded from your sight,
Romanticism drew from your lips
Modernism was birthed from your cheeks
All art was and is you incarnated
And these lines mature from my
Burning blood sanctified in your reflection
To make my heart mad in love,
As I write them
It is not one hand but the hands
Of many who now entangled in one single fist,
Dilute their plea into this poem,
A gallery of sighs proudly displayed
Upon every syllable of each verse
Who gave out their life in exchange
To imagine you in your glory
