I'm Glad I'm Not A Bug

Poem

I'm glad I'm not a bug

Never being able to understand love

On their heartstrings love will never tug

Since they are only a bug

I'm glad I'm not a bug

Never will they question the God above

Does he exist? They'll never ask, as they crawl across my kitchen rug

Since they are only a bug

I'm glad I'm not a bug

They'll never understand the deep hurt of losing someone you care for

No tears will they shed, nor will an ounce of them care, like a man high on a drug.

Since they are only a bug

I'm glad I'm not a bug

They never worry about poverty or disease

Never will they fear the coming of death, but will wander mindlessly through the world, so smug

Since they are only a bug

I'm glad I'm not a bug

Never have they asked, "why am I here."

In their meaningless lives they sit so snug

As a matter a fact, I don't think I'd mind being a bug
