Mirror-Girl

Poem

I look at myself in the mirror.

Though is it really me?

Am I just an unwitting seer,

Gazing into an different reality?

What if I don't even own

That reflection above the sink?

What if it won't leave me alone?

I nervously wonder and think.

I lift a hand as an experiment,

Then raise another, soon.

I make a scowl that nearly sent

Me running out of the room.

I begin to feel rather queasy,

So I hesitate, uncertain.

Something suddenly grabs me!

It was behind the shower curtain!

I wake as I'm about to scream,

And I quickly bound out of my bed.

Despite how things may seem,

It really was inside my head.

At first I feel real lucky,

Then I realize a thing with sorrow:

I badly need to go pee,

And it can't wait 'til tomorrow.
