Workshop

(This is somewhat of a revision of a previous poem of mine, here)

It seems regardless of the circumstance:

the peak of agony that heartbreak brings,

the cold and lonely valley after loss,

the amber cage of listless transition;

it seems that even now amidst the dense

constricting roots around my frail chest

this stubborn heart of mine continues on.

So even though I feel confined to bed,

my sorrow just compounding every day

with no clear voice to let it bellow out,

I must remind myself my heart still beats,

my lungs still circulate the air I breathe.

I have survived this life until today,

and every little moment come to pass.

I will survive this moment just the same.
