Runaway
She's knocking
Not a steady rythme
But a thunder crack
Sobs echo through the house
Like summer rain
She's calling for me
But I don't answer
I'm running down the halls
Dark like morning coffee
Bittersweet like chocolate
I'm shutting the doors
One by one
She's screaming now
Hollaring like a mother
On an old front porch
Calling me to come home
Promises dripping from her lips
But I can't speak
My mouth is stitched
Like an old summer dress
Prayers pool from me like tears
Anywhere but here I beg
Deliver me lord from this evil
