i want us to kiss

Poem

while my fingers

feverishly search through your curls.

mouths implode like overripe plums

and spill on the slopes of our faces.

eyes open: skin against skin.

eyes close.

less breath, no breath. more breath.

the smell of your body and mine,

an intoxicating catalyst

of our fervent chemistry

born out of my playful smile

and your collarbone that i envy.

everyone else you’ve kissed–

show me how you did it.

i won’t tell you yet that it thrills me.

bring me in closer, until i disappear.
