Can’t talk to you

Poem

Baby, I can’t talk to you

My mouth, it freezes right up

Cause what could we possibly

Share through the night blue?

In the heat of the moment

While seagulls fly above us

I cry out, trying so hard to reach you out

But, boy, you speak another language

A one you created in your own

(And damn it hurts)

Cause, baby, I can’t talk to you

My voice is just not enough for you

And I die right inside when I think of

What could we possibly

Share through the night blue?

And I wish I could kill myself

To borrow a bit of your wilderness

But, boy, I’m just not brave enough

My whole existence is half way down

Baby, I can’t talk to you

So I’m writing a fond bunch of letters

You’ll never read through

As I wonder what’s love anyway

A feeling of pure joy and pain?

A fetish of an unreachable game?

Or is it what’s stuck between my throat and my tongue?

Baby, I can’t talk to you.

And damn it hurts.
