No
Yeah I never got juice boxes for school nor do I remember anybody from my hometown doing this. Definitely mustn't have been popular in rural SA.
Same here, we actually had shit to do at recess and lunch and wouldn't of waisted our time on this shit
nobody did that lol
Juice....box?
The only nostalgia here for me is filling them with air and jumping on them, bringing the true name of "poppers" to life.
I remember them being called Poppers more because there was a brand called Poppers. Otherwise they tended to be called Primas, after the Prima brand
I don't know if we had the Prima brand in QLD. I only remember Golden Circle ones.
My mate got called Prima coz he blew his load when a chick was kissing him.
Never done this in my life
That’s a fruit box?
It is. It's a fruit box. It's been 20 years since I was at primary school, but I can't edit this, and apparently the names of things is a minefield in these parts.
Yoooo the only other person I've seen that called it a fruit box
Those weren't called juice boxes when I was a kid. That must be the American influence finally taking over.
We called them poppers and nobody looked at the numbers underneath.
It’s not American influence, just the original term from the UK. Poppers originated as Australia slowly leans away from English culture. Some areas will say poppers, others juice boxes or in my case just a combination of both
Guess it depends where you grew up in Australia. We called them Fruit boxes in South Australia. Never looked at the number though. Didn't hear them called popper until I moved to Queensland
I've never done this....but just so you know the popper im drinking has 718 770. So I win 😎
We used to call them "poppers" because after you finish drinking it, you blow into it till it puffs up, then do a big jump stomp on it and it goes "BANG!" 😜. Good times...
It’s a popper not a juice box for starters! And definitely did not do this number thing.
This wasn’t a thing with poppers
Obligatory "not just me"?
20 is pretty solid.
Not just you and it is normal in WA to call them juice box🧃
Thank you, but someone wrote Fruit Box, and my old brain remembered that's what we really called them.
And in vic
It was in the 90's SA too. Or fruit box. Never looked at the numbers though
NSW too
Grew up in NSW, no one called them "juice boxes" around me. Poppers, all the way.
Regardless of name, I don't recall anyone checking the numbers on the bottom... may well be a regional / generational thing, though.
Don’t drag us down with you
It is now unfortunately, my kids and their cousins all use that term
SA too

They're called poppers, because they pop when you stomp on them. The real school yard heroes could pop them with their fist as well.
They were originally actually poppers because the brand was poppers. The popping noise was just a happy coincidence.
I would be more interested in the boobs indent
Couldn't beat a Sunnyboy or a Razz
It was the numbers on cutlery for us, and it was your age.
we do that with farmers union ice coffees, the number was specific to how milk or something was i cant remember
The higher the number the more coffee/caffeine was the myth I always heard
thats the one

No this never happened for us
Cheapskate sunnyboy you mean?
Never did that but definitely called them ‘poppers’ not ‘juice box’
And I definitely remember filling them with air and jumping on them for a Pop after drinking them
Omg yes, everyone did that. Used to do it behind someone to give them a scare lol
We used to do that with Triangles in the supermarket - run over them with a trolley so they squirted everywhere.
^ This ^ .... Popper's
I was a 90s kid in outback NSW, we called them Fruit Boxes
QLD 90s kid here - popper 🧃 <- this emoji even appeared when I typed the word popper 😂
I remember when I moved to Queensland in 94 and had no idea wtf a popper was. Wasn't until I found out it was a brand that it made sense. Same reason we called them fruit boxes in South Australia
