Arising Tides
The titan tides shellac the shore with heady, foaming fury,
And all the while the clouds conspire to join with feisty flurry,
To bring the loafing land to heel and raise the righteous sea,
To drown the cursed continent. This is how things must be.
Bounding forth from basin, staking claim on settled soils,
No surface dares stay dry when the wavy regent roils.
It quickly clears the forest, and will sink each city block,
The keys are carved like canyons, that make lofty land unlock.
Waters gush through guarded grounds, forging fresh new coasts
The qualms of conquered colonies drowned out by soaking boasts.
They could never solve a shortage, abundance even less,
But the sea solves all their issues with one watery redress.
The last parched pasture’s circled, the final ground is gained,
The space is filled with freedom from the haunt of sordid stains.
At last one common sea conjoins, a god has earned its rest,
Upon a continent consumed, its destiny manifests.
Where once the calm was waiting, at last it may begin,
It took the zenith of all zealots to silence all the sin.
Sunk beneath its surface lies a lesson learned and lived:
What the ocean asks for, humanity must give.
